December 12  - gp-Untis (timetable software) training for pilot schools in Viljandi.

December 10 - 12 - ISE coordinator's meeting in Viljandi.

November 30 - meeting with ISE task manager from ETF, Mr Helmut Zelloth. The current status of ISE programme were discussed, especially programme complement and disbursement problems.

November 17-19 - Telemaatika 2000 conference in Tartu. The conference was organised by ISE programme, over 300 participants (most of them teachers) took part. The conference website is available at http://www.ise.ee/telemaatika2000/index.en.html (timetable, participants, photos and other). Three presentations about ISE programme and IS software were held by Tõnis Eelma.

November 14  - hardware tender evaluation in Tallinn. The evaluation took place with assistance of EC Delegation representative, Mr Kai Willadsen. The company AS Assert was selected as a winner and the contract is established.

November 7 - PCG meeting, the project status review, plans for the next year.

November 7 - PMG meeting, the project status review and further steps were discussed.

October 30 - November 3   - visit of TA expert, Mr Frank Kelly. The purpose of visit is to evaluate information system development under ISE programme.

October 26 - Tõnis Eelma participated at the meeting of IST (Information Society Technologies) Education and Training Working Party in Luxembourg.

October 21 - "Koolituur" in Tallinn. The local conferences about using ICT in schools were initiated by Tiger Leap Foundation. The code name for these conferences was "Koolituur" (School Tour). Tõnis Eelma introduced the ISE achievements about developing the information system software for Estonian Schools.

October 20 - meeting of strategy committee. The discussion about feedback and the new version.

October 17 - PMG meeting. The project review.

October 14 - "Koolituur" in Kohtla-Järve and Narva.

October 10 - ECDL Council meeting: ECDL system review, proposals for the new ECDL Council.

October 7 - "Koolituur" in Võru.

October 4 - Tõnis Eelma gave a presentation to school principals about information system software. Organised by Tartu University.

September 13 - meeting with Ms Anneli Kommer, the head of finance department in MoE. The expectations on new information system were discussed.

September 13 - Phare ISE CD 4.

August 30 - review of Extens with specialists from Ministry of Education and ICS.

August 29 - meeting with Mr Jahongir Haitov from the UNDP in Uzbekistan. The Estonian experience about bringing IT to schools was shared.

August 28 - meeting with the Information Office of the Nordic Council of Ministers.

August 24 - meeting of strategy committee. The parts of detailed draft were reviewed and it was decided to put parts together and deliver the draft for open discussion in September.

August 23 - PMG meeting. IST introduced a new project manager Mr Crister Jonsson. The new representative of MoE will be Ms Reet Neudorf (most probably the new PAO for ISE programme), Ms Ene Lindemann will stay in PMG for sustainability. The project status was reviewed and main problems were identified.

August 23 - review of Extens with specialists from Ministry of Education and ICS.

August 18 - Terje Tuisk participates in ECDL project group meeting.

August 17 - round table meeting with IC Systems. The project status and main problems were discussed, it was decided to start web-based problem and helpdesk.

July 25 - meeting with ISE PAO Ms Ene Lindemann, who left the Ministry of Education in August 2000. The ISE programme and IS project current situation was reviewed.

June 26-27 - development of Extens training materials with pilot schools staff in Saaremaa.

June 21 - meeting with the Information Office of the Nordic Council of Ministers.

June 12-17 - Tõnis Eelma visited IST company in Växjö. During the visit Estonian terms in software were corrected, databases were updated, the whole project was reviewed.

June 7 - meeting of strategy committee. The structure of the strategy was agreed and the tasks for composing the first detailed draft were appointed.

June 7 - Phil Strange visited Türi Gymnasium, met with school principal, ISE coordinator and teachers.

June 6 - Phil Strange interviewed ISE PAO, Ms Ene Lindemann. He also visited Tiger Leap Foundation, interviewed Tiger Leap managers.

June 5 - Phil Strange visited Pärnu Koidula Gymnasium, met with school principal, ISE coordinator and teachers.

June 2 - Phil Strange interviewed ISE staff.

June 1 - Phil Strange visited Võru. He met with head of Võru County Education Department, Mr Georg Aher (former ISE Steering Committee chair). He also met school principal, ISE coordinator and teachers of Võru Kreutzwald Gymnasium.

May 31 - Phil Strange visited Tartu Descartes Lyceum, met with school principal, ISE coordinator and teachers.

May 30  - meeting with IST director Bo Wikström. The project status was reviewed and new IST experts were accepted (incl. Bo Wikström as the new project manager). The visit of Tõnis Eelma to IST for software development purposes was agreed and detailed.

May 30 - Phil Strange visited Põlva Keskkool, met with school principal, ISE coordinator and teachers.

May 29 - June 8 - the TA expert Phil Strange started his visit to Estonia. The purpose of visit was to evaluate the ISE programme results on usage of ICT as pedagogical tool in pilot schools.

May 25 - the ISE Steering Committee meeting.

May 19 - national Tiger Leap conference in Pärnu. The conference concluded the Tiger Leap results during last three years and was oriented to discuss current problems about the ICT usage at Estonian schools.

May 18 and 25 - meetings with the director of Estonian ECDL Centre, Mr Jaan Oruaas. The main problems in ECDL implementation process and the ways to solve them were discussed.

May 18 - meeting with IC Systems representatives for discussing IS project status. The current activities were reviewed. It was decided to precise the expected outputs of the project development stage and to urge IST to find a new project manager.

May 3 - The ISE fourth newsletter was issued and delivered to schools.

April 12 - the meeting with TA contractor (Scottish Development Overseas) representatives Ms Lorna MacKay and Mr Ivan Mykytyn.

April 12 - a round table meeting was organised by Phare ISE Programme for starting the procedure of composing national strategy of IT development for Estonian schools.

April 10-14 - representatives of SDO Lorna MacKay and Ivan Mykytyn visited Estonia.

April 8 - Tõnis Eelma held a presentation "The Different Aspects of ICT Usage in Teaching Process" for mathematics teachers.

April 7 - MagiCube training for ministry personnel.

April 6 - Tõnis Eelma and Kati Korm participated at Kontakt 2000 conference (for Estonian IT managers).

April 4 - the Minister of Education appointed a new Steering Committee for ISE programme. Also a new committee chair was appointed - Mr Margus Haidak, Head of International Cooperation Department of Ministry of Education.

April 1 - a new Head of Archimedes Tartu Office, Ms Ülle Must started on her position.

March 23 - the meeting of the Estonian ECDL Council, Tõnis Eelma was elected to the new chairman of the council.

March 22 - Extens training for county and ministry personnel in Viljandi.

March 20 - meeting with Prof. Jaan Mikk: planning of survey on pedagogical software efficiency in pilot schools.

March 17 - Extens training for county and ministry personnel in Saue.

March 17 - meeting with IC Systems director Mr Ülo Puskar and project manager Mr Mait Lang for discussing contract implementing problems caused by IC Systems.

March 14 - the meeting with Mr Hannes Astok, the vice mayor of Tartu. The IS software implementation in Tartu educational institutions was discussed.

March 7 - discussion with IC Systems trainers, preparation for county and ministry personnel training.

March 2 - the meeting with ISE and Tiger Leap pilot schools. The opportunities of national teachers portal (www.opetaja.ee) were discussed.

February 29 - the Council of Archimedes Foundation appointed a new director for the foundation - Mr Rait Toompere.

February 28 - Terje Tuisk and Tõnis Eelma participated in meeting in the Information Office of the Nordic Council of Ministers.

February 24-26 - Gerry Murphy carried out the follow-up workshop for "Leading the Integration of ICT in Education" for the second group of teachers. Workshop took place in Pärnu.

February 23 - Project Control Group meeting: approval of Phase 3, plans for Phase 4.

February 22 - the ECDL National Council meeting.

February 17-18 - Tõnis Eelma held a training "Managing the IT Development at School" for school principals.

February 15-26 - the second visit of TA expert Mr Gerry Murphy. Mr Murphy carried out two seminars (continuing the seminars started in November) "Publishment of lessonplans in WWW" for 32 teachers from pilot schools. During the seminar the teachers presented their lessonplans and published all materials in WWW. There were 24 lessonplans published involving very different subject areas: History, Primary Education, Biology, Estonian language, English, German, Russian, Physics, Geography, Informatics. All published materials are available at web-site: http://tartu.archimedes.ee/workshop/.

January 25 - GP-Untis seminar. Pilot schools' representatives met with timetabling software trainer - problems of timetabling in Estonia were discussed.

January 21-22 - ISE coordinator's meeting in Võru County, Kiidi.

January 4 - IS software development meeting. Discussed issues: Estonian teachers' payroll system, software dialogs' translations, pilot schools' reports.
